Only 5 more days to go but two evictions are still on the way, making the Big Night of Pinoy Big Brother Season 2 a more exciting event to catch. Since the eviction of Nel last Saturday, fanatics are more eager to ask the show's management on what's in store for the Big Night on the 30th and who among the six remaining housmates will step on the grandeous stage of the Araneta Coliseum. Fortunately, Direk Laurenti Dyogi, the Business Unit Head of PBB, gladly sat down with the press to invite the people to watch the upcoming PBB finale and to also disspell rumors and conspiracy theories surrounding the biggest reality show in the country at the moment. With Direk Lauren were the hosts of PBB Season 2, Toni Gonzaga, Bianca Gonzales, Mariel Rodriguez, and Jason Gainza.
The press eagerly asked Direk Lauren and the hosts on who they think would win this season. However, Direk Lauren preferred that he and the hosts remain neutral about their personal forecasts, but not before Toni revealed that she wanted a guy to win this time. The four hosts also said that they were more excited about this season given all the surrounding talks and debates among viewers. Toni said that she credits PBB for enhancing her hosting skills because of the show's spontaneous and unpredicatable nature, especially during live evictions. Through PBB, Toni earned an award and much recognition for her hosting ability and got hand of numerous opportunities and projects. Mariel also said that she is thankful to the PBB management for entrusting her the job of hosting the show. On the other and, Jason and Bianca, who were former housemates themselves, felt that they grew up with the show. As housemates, they just let their emotions pour inside the house. Jason confessed that the environement inside is really intense. As for Bianca, not that she is a hosts, admitted that she became more sympathetic with the housemates in terms of their difficult task and how they handle the results, no matter how unfavorable they are.
But the one who got the most number of queries from the press was Direk Lauren himself. First of all, he was asked to set the records straight on the issue of "rigging the results." Direk Lauren said that such is not possible because a third party auditing firm is hired by ABS-CBN to verify the results of the text votes for the finals since Robert's eviction, which is being carefully handled by a separate department, ABS-CBN Interactive. Also, it is not only him who decides on how the show will go. Direk told the press that he also answers to the network executives who, above all, will not allow the intergrity of the show and ABS-CBN to be tarnished. It seems that most people think that all the things happening in PBB are all of Direk Lauren's doing, which made him the initial target of some violent reactions and numerous hate mails. To this, the director chose to focus his attention in continuously improving the show. Any feedback is a good feedback, rather than no feedback at all, as Direk Lauren said.
So far, Direk Lauren said that he was very much happy with how the show is doing so far, and expressed his excitement over the upcoming Big Night. According to him, Endemol (the foreign company that owns the Big Brother frachise) is impressed with the production value of PBB. As per Endemol, no other country celebrates weekly evictions and Big Nights the way the Philippines do. As for the Big Night on June 30, Direk Lauren shared some highlights that will surely wow viewers. The hosts will have "other involvements" in the show aside from hosting. For the Big Four, the audience must prepare themselves for the surprise the way the finalists will be transported from the PBB house to the Araneta Coliseum. Finally, for the Big winner, a much creative welcome awaits the housemate who receieved the highest number of votes. Be sure to catch the Big Night at the Big Dome on the 30th for these surprises. |
